2011 MVEF Race

On September 17, 2011 the community came together with a focus of health and wellness in an effort to help raise funds for the MVEF. Because of the overwhelming support, the race profits were more than double the previous year! The MVEF is grateful for our corporate sponsors, volunteers and students who made this event such a huge success! A special thank you to Hancock Regional Hospital for their partnership with the MVEF’s 5K and 1Mile Race!

Both courses began at the Mt. Vernon High School track, with the 5K beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the 1 Mile beginning at 9:00 a.m. The participants enjoyed a campus tour as they walked or ran to support the schools!

All ages and abilities enjoyed the beautiful weather and exciting course with plenty of turns. Music could be heard throughout the entire course. Prices were $25 and $15, with $5 discount early bird rates. (Preschoolers were free.) Packet pick-up date was Friday, September 16th at the Mt. Vernon High School Football Stadium Ticket Booth.
